GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Under the general direction of the Senior Manager of Airport Operations Center, the Airport Operations Manager-AOC is responsible for overseeing the management of the Authority's 24/7 dispatch center, which serves as the central point of contact for all emergency and operational calls at Tampa International Airport. The role leads the team of shift supervisors responsible for calls relating to all airport operations and systems, including elevators, escalators, and shuttles. The Airport Operations Manager is also responsible for planning, training, budgeting supplies, coordinating schedules, and controlling personnel, material, and physical resources to achieve operational and organizational objectives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
· Accountable for the well-being and support of direct reports, providing individualized training for job responsibilities and mentorship to foster professional growth.
· Responsible for room staffing, supervision, and maintaining an effective and efficient overall operation within the Airport Operations Center (AOC).
· Evaluates the work performance of direct reports; engages in transparent performance check-ins and appraisals and takes necessary corrective actions or disciplinary measures when required.
· Ensures compliance with authority standards regarding personal appearance among direct reports, promoting a professional work environment.
· Oversee the maintenance and accountability of all direct reports' equipment, ensuring adherence to established guidelines and promoting operational efficiency.
· Manages all training and qualifications associated with the operational functions of the Airport Operations Center (AOC), including Simplex Alarms protocols, shuttle management, security access, and terminal/airfield communications.
· Manages the emergency evacuation plan and transfers responsibilities for the Airport Operations Center.
· Manages emergency incidents by acting as the liaison between the Authority and all responding mutual aid resources. This includes activating the Incident Command Center and fulfilling the role of the ESF2 (NIMS) function until the Senior Manager arrives.
· Analyzes team performance, identifying and implementing changes to improve teamwork, efficiency, and effectiveness.
· Assists in developing and implementing a unique Integrated Operations Center (IOC) founded on trust and a shared common purpose.
· Champions innovation by overseeing the IOC capability and mission, ensuring alignment with operational goals.
· Assists in leading the development of integrated, efficient, and effective processes to execute the IOC mission.
· Regular and reliable attendance is required as an essential function of the position.

COMPETENCIES

QUALIFICATIONS
· Associate’s degree in public or business administration, Airport Management, or related field.
· Four (4) years’ experience in aviation, emergency operations, or related field .
· Two (2) years supervisory or lead experience.
· Or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
· Must possess a valid Florida Driver License.
